The Traversa family came from Veneto in 1904, and then the second generation established a winery in 1956 in rural Montevideo on the border of Canelones. The family now have a big company with 380 hectares around Canelones and also buy around 40% of their production from long-term local producers.
The modern winery has a big production with many different wines produced of all levels, but they try to make sure they have a minimum impact on the environment with 70% of their energy coming from solar power along with other sustainable measure in the winery and in the vineyard.
The wines are fruit-focused, and easy to drink. Try the new blend of 70% Cabernet Franc with some Tannat and Marselan, the fresh Sauvignon Blanc and their Syrah Tannat blend.
